OutPatient Imaging is pleased to announce that we have a brand new website thanks to Image Results who worked closely with us to develop our new modern website that reflex who we are, a state-of-the-art imaging center that is focused on patients in our communities that we serve.

We want to get the message out in our community that “You Have A Choice” when it comes to imaging centers. You don’t have to go to your area hospitals, even if you were prescribed by your physician. We want people to know that they can save a lot of money if they come to see us. We will give you the same if not better service for your imaging requirements.

We hope that with the investment we made in our new website, people will see that we committed to excellence and give people in our community the right information to make an informed decision on where they go next time for their imaging needs.

One of the new features of the website is the ability to request an appointment online and have a staff member call to confirm their request within 24 hours if not sooner. As more and more people go online everyday, we wanted to make sure we offered them an alternate way to reach us. Understanding that we have to be flexible and available 24/7, this online appointment request is sure to be a hit.

We want to say thank you to Image Results for the wonderful work they did on our website as well as the work they did on getting us found on the search engines. Without their expertise in SEO & Web Development, we would not be found by people searching for our services.

One of the most recent advances in x-ray mammography is Digital Mammography. Digital (computerized) mammography is similar to standard mammography in that x-rays are used to produce detailed images of the breast. Digital mammography uses essentially the same mammography system as conventional mammography, but the system is equipped with a digital receptor and a computer instead of a film cassette. Several studies have demonstrated that digital mammography is at least as accurate as standard mammography.

Digital spot view mammography allows faster and more accurate stereotactic biopsy. This results in shorter examination times and significantly improved patient comfort and convenience since the time the patient must remain still is much shorter. With digital spot-view mammography, images are acquired digitally and displayed immediately on the system monitor. Spot-view digital systems have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in guiding breast biopsy. Traditional stereotactic biopsy requires a mammogram film be exposed, developed and then reviewed, greatly increasing the time before the breast biopsy can be completed.

In addition to spot-view digital mammography, the FDA has approved a “full-field” digital mammography system to screen for and diagnose breast cancer. With continued improvements, the “full-field” mammography systems may eventually replace traditional mammography.

Bone Density (DEXA)

Bone mineral densitometry, also frequently called a DEXA or bone mineral density exam, is an important procedure in the evaluation of bone health. The technology uses a dedicated machine designed specifically for this purpose. It is a quick, simple and painless exam that uses x-rays and highly sophisticated software to measure bone loss.

BMD is our best defense in the early diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. Often called the silent disease, osteoporosis robs the body of bone strength, leaving many at risk for broken bones with even a simple fall or bump. Post menopausal women are at highest risk but both men and women lose bone strength as they age. In recent years, the emergence of many new pharmaceutical options has greatly enhanced the treatment of osteoporosis. With these new treatment options available, diagnosing bone loss early can have a significant impact on quality of life for osteoporosis patients.

Please contact our office to schedule your Bone Density Scan today.
